The programme serves for the renaming of the color-coded layers of Digital Topographic Maps (DTK) within the subdirectories in which they lie.
The programme is available for Windows (Umbenennung.exe) and as Bourne-Shell script ( for UNIX systems .
program flow
The program flow is based on an explanatory dialog in both versions so that the programs can be started and left any time before the execution of the renaming.
Function description
The delivery standard of the Service Centre provides that all layers of a map sheet or a tile are summarized in a list. The list bears the name of the sheet or the tile.
In the directory the color-coded combined layer has the name I0 and the color-coded single layers have the names I1, I2, ...
While this uniform name for automatic processings is offering advantages, it can be desirable in other cases that the name of the sheet or the tile also results from the name of the layer.
The programme renames all layers by putting the directory name in front, e.g.:
c1234\l0.tif --> c1234\c1234_l0.tif
If exactly one single layer lies in every directory only , then the name of the layer can be omitted at the renaming, e.g.:
c1234\l0.tif --> c1234\c1234.tif
The DTK may directly lie in subdirectories in the source directory to be given or only in further subdirectories that serve to structure the DTK. The respective case is to be given in the programmes.
